Cirque Show on Jackson Headed to Mandalay?

Rumors are flying that Mandalay Bay will be home to the forthcoming Cirque du Soleil production on the life and music of Michael Jackson. This week it was announced that “The Lion King” will close in December 2011, leaving a vacancy at M.B. just in time for the Cirque-Jackson spectacular.

Cirque has already announced that a touring version of the Jackson show will be launched in 2011, and that the fixed production will follow in late 2012. This would leave time for Cirque crews to re-do the theater used by “Lion King”
