The soon-to-open Cosmopolitan resort will undoubtedly throw the biggest New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas this year, and maybe the biggest anywhere. It’s such a hot ticket that the hotel is charging $5,600 for three nights over the holiday weekend, the Las Vegas Sun reports. That price includes admission to the opening of Marquee nightclub, two tickets to the invitation-only Coldplay/Jay-Z concert and a $300 food and beverage credit for dinner for two, plus brunch the next day. That doesn’t add up to five grand to us, but we’re sure some high-rollers will take the Cosmo up on it.
Locals Special at Circus Circus Steakhouse
Now at the Steakhouse at Circus Circus, locals will receive a bottle of wine on the house — choose from chardonnay, cabernet and merlot — when they purchase two entrees. Meals at the top-rated restaurant start at $30 and include choice of black bean soup or house salad, choice of potato, and the vegetable du jour. For menus and more info, check out the steakhouse online.
South Point celebrates five years with deals
South Point is turning 5 this month, but rather than expecting a gift, the casino will offer some specials to mark the occasion. Order any drink from one of the bars on the hotel floor and it will set you back only $2 from December 13 through 24.
Meanwhile, the casino is using the occasion of its birthday month to welcome a new restaurant, Steak ‘n Shake. Midwesterners who crave the super-skinny fries and creamy milkshakes they enjoyed back home now have a place in Vegas to satisfy their urges. For more information about South Point promotions, see the property’s players club.
Free admission for locals and others at Palms’ clubs
For the month of December, all locals will receive free admission to the Palms’ nightlife venues. New Year’s Eve, of course, is exempted from the deal, but otherwise you can drop in to any of the hotel’s venues on any night without paying a cover. Included in the deal are Moon, Rain, Ghostbar and the Playboy club. Others eligible for free admission are teachers, members of the military, fire fighters and police officers. You must be 21 and show a local ID or proof of employment, if applicable. For more information, contact nightclub operator N9NE group.
Nelly to Rock Hot NYE Party
This year, the hottest New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas—or maybe anywhere—will be at Haze as rap phenom Nelly headlines. The nightclub inside the Aria hotel will get the party started at 10 p.m on December 31. The real action, however, will begin well after the ball drops at midnight, because beautiful party people will be hitting the club for champagne and dancing well past sunrise.
VIP tickets to the NYE party at Haze run $150 and include the Nelly performance. Or go for the true ball upgrade and score an Aria NYE all-access pass for $250; it includes VIP admission to Haze and Gold Boutique Nightclub with hosted bar at Gold from 9 to 11 p.m. It’s a perfect way to liquor up and set the tone before the night turns crazy. For tickets or more info, contact Haze at (702) 693-8300.
Dine for Less at M Resort
For the rest of the month, the M Resort will knock 50 percent off your bill at the hotel’s top restaurants when you use iMagine Rewards points to pay. The offer is good for fine-dining hot spots Terzetto, Marinelli’s and Veloce Cibo. Tax, gratuity and alcohol are not included in the offer. For more info, see the iMagine club.
Stratosphere Plans NFR Contests
With the National Finals Rodeo coming to town, the Stratosphere is your place to cowboy up. As an official sponsor, the hotel has a number of events and promotions planned around the rodeo. Drawings for NFR tickets and Jim Beam merchandise will be held nightly from December 1 to 8.
A cowboy dress-up contest will be held December 2 at 10 p.m. in Images Lounge. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of the following categories: best TV/movie cowboy, best TV/movie cowgirl, best cowboy entertainer, best cowgirl entertainer and best NASCAR driver. During the contest, country and western band Desert Outlaws will perform live and bottomless Gold Buckle margaritas will be offered for $25. For more information about how you can get your cowboy on, visit the Stratosphere online.
