Celebrate Vegas legend Jackie Gaughan’s 90th birthday Sunday, Oct. 24, from noon to 6 p.m. at El Cortez.

The hotel will honor its one-time owner and current resident by serving up free champagne and cake to guests. The El Cortez will also rename the walkway that connects the property’s entry to Las Vegas Boulevard in Gaughan’s honor.

Other hotels Gaughan owned or operated during his long career include the Flamingo, the Union Plaza, the Golden Nugget and the Las Vegas Club.
