House of Blues Shows Locals Love

Service fees and exorbitant drink prices. They’re the one-two punch that keeps many local music fans away from concerts at corporate-run joints across the Las Vegas Valley. After all, who wants to cough up an extra third of the ticket value for mystery surcharges? And what could be less rock ’n’ roll than a tallboy of Budweiser that costs $12?

House of Blues plans to launch program that gives Las Vegans a way around these annoyances. Beginning February 1, customers who show a local ID and purchase their tickets in person before the day of the show will bypass all service fees and receive a wrist band that caps the price of domestic beer at $6. Steel Panther performances are not included in the Locals 1-2-3 deal, but haven’t most locals seen the hair-metal group by now, anyway?

In addition to reducing ticket and drink prices for locals, the program will give them 25 percent off when they buy food or merchandise at the venue. For more information, contact the House of Blues box office at (702) 632–7600.
